Gate triggering sensor
As the package passes through the 'Gate' sensor the end of the container triggers the arm to apply the sticker, by using the end of the box (trailing edge) the sticker is always applied in the correct place regardless of size.

Fibre optics can be used when the possibilities of mounting a sensor are limited. Using a through beam means that there is a definite trigger point to give an accurate signal.
