As device structures become more complex, ultra-high-speed and high-precision control is required. The Programmable Multi Axis Controller (PMAC) has been highly evaluated in the field of advanced production technology which requires ultra-high-speed response performance, such as semiconductor manufacturing equipment. Omron maximizes the equipment for the semiconductor manufacturing with exceptional motion control capabilities.

Application: Chip bonding / Pick & Place

As the thickness of the target workpiece becomes thinner, there is a possibility that the workpiece will be damaged when it comes in-contact with the substrate. On the other hand, it becomes difficult to maintain high-speed bonding operation to prevent such events.

Our solution: Advanced machine controller

The PMAC product family, with its open multi-vendor compatibility, enables the design of a control solution that helps to reduce the impact of chip contact and achieve stable control with high-response motors through ultra-high-speed calculations.

Seamless switching between axis control modes (position/velocity/torque) with ultra-fast control cycles (16.6μs-) and application of unique algorithms to achieve both high speed and load stability in bonding.
