Discover flexibility for machine control with NX I/O Series and their increased communication capabilities

Industrial automation applications are benefitting from the growing availability of smart devices and flexible integrated solutions. As modern machine control is made with larger and more complex architectures, we offer the NX I/O system with an extended availability of communication protocols.

NX I/O system enables timing accuracy and repeatability for a wide variety of inputs and outputs. The requirement for a fieldbus is time-critical and cost sensitive and the resulting openness, modularity and determinism are the key elements in today's machine automation.

Therefore, we introduce the new ProfiNet communication coupler to increase current fieldbus connectivity on the existing EtherCAT and EtherNet/IP versions.

  • Omron chose EtherCAT as control network for the Sysmac Machine Controller series. The convenience of standard Ethernet cabling combined with extremely fast on-the-fly data exchange have resulted in a new machine control architecture.
  • EtherNet/IP uses the CIP protocol over standard Ethernet infrastructure to offer efficient yet reliable data exchange. Using the EtherNet/IP bus coupler, NX-series I/O - including safety control - can be connected to CJ/CS-series PLC’s.
  • ProfiNet bus coupler expands NX I/O platform capabilities enabling a wider range of possible architectures.
